Soutdland Restaurant in Cottondale

Went late afternoon and selection was slim.

I ordered a hamburger steak with gravy and onions fries and salad. I asked for half & half tea because I don't like real sweet tea. Today was still very sweet I'd hate to order full sweet tea there it would be like syrup. The fries were hot and good the salad bar was okay, but the hamburger steak was absolutely horrible. The onions instead of being caramelized tasted like they had been boiled,they also tasted like the onion had been about ruined before it had been cooked. The meat tasted old as well. not one time did the waitress asked if everything was okay like the food cooked okay or anything and to top it off the total bill was over $16 for something I couldn't really eat.

Since moving to Tuscaloosa, we've been excited about eating "some good ole southern cooking" When we asked around, this was the place we mostly heard about, I don't know why but a few months after we got here, they closed down the restaurant for quite a while..when we found out that it was reopened I was anxious to try it out, so we did...up to this day 7/1/2019, we're STILL looking for a restaurant that sells "some good ole southern cooking"!!!

This restaurant provides first-rate service as well as enjoyable meals. One of my favourite places ever. The drinks and food came out quickly and the prices are reasonable. Will definitely recommend this place.

The Food and Service was so delicious tried the Hamburger Steak it was great and the price was good too. I can't forget about the cheese in the salad bar was quite tasty. Thank you Soundland

I really enjoyed the food. Beef tips with rice is really good..My husband enjoyed it as well...Loved the tea ,very sweet just the way I like it 👍🏼Very good waitress (didnt get her name) Met the manager Homer soo nice and super friendly made sure all was ok. While talking with him found out he has family in Kemper Co n Meridian..... Great place to eat!! Will definitely be back!!!

My work team (Mercedes Benz) had our Christmas party there. Great food, great service, home cooking, awesome desserts. I highly suggest it.

Absolutely LOVED this place! Very friendly staff and food was delicious! My husband had the beef tips w/rice and gravy, fried green tomatoes, and turnip greens! He says that if we come back to the area, we will be dining there again! I had the Alabama fried fish, Mac &Cheese, and turnip greens, cornbread muffins! We both had the BlackBerry cobbler! Needless to say...we were happy happy happy! If yall are in the area...give 'em a try...from Texas⭐

Best food I've had in a long time at a restaurant. Just like home cooked. To bad I'm only here visiting. We had catfish and pork chops. Service excellence.

Had the Thursday Night Grilled Chicken w/White BBQ Sauce, coleslaw, potato salad, fried green tomatoes and greenbeans . EVERYTHING WAS VERY GOOD. We eat here often. They also have an awesome salad bar.
